My recent dining experience at Alba’s was pleasantly surprising. They recently overhauled the entire building and gave it a very homey and calming ambiance. The hardwood floors are covered in an array of impressive area rugs and mirrors and paintings adorn the walls. Its comfortable, but not overly casual.
The menu is extensive and the four of us enjoyed almost everything we had. We started with a antipasti platter for the table and it was exactly what an antipasti platter should be. It was full of fresh grilled vegetables, white beans & shrimp tossed in a light vinaigrette, a variety of italian cheeses and meats, balsamic grilled portobellos and much more. It was such a refreshing change from the standard roasted peppers and marinated mushrooms!
We moved onto Entrees and the pasta dish was excellent, as was the fish. The gentlemen both ordered the rack of lamb and were disappointed. It wasn’t bad, it just didn’t have a ‘wow’ factor. That was quickly forgotten when dessert arrived and I have only one thing to say about the tiramisu-FANTASTIC! And I will leave it at that!
The bar looks like a nice place to sit an enjoy some vino and I a certain I will return to do just that and nibble on some antipasti!
